About Coach Ben Stirt
Ben's goal as a basketball coach is to join basketball philosophy with skill training to create a well-rounded player that is high in both basketball IQ and fundamental skills. This is the foundation of greatness, and with Court Vision Basketball Performance, the foundation can be built and maximum potential can be unlocked!
Ben has a long history with the game of basketball, and he strives everyday to pass along his love and passion for the game. He played his first organized game at age 4 and has been involved with the game ever since.
He finished his high school career as an all-area player and three-year starting point guard in Gainesville, FL. Ben then moved on to play college basketball at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where he was a member of the 2006 conference championship team that beat Princeton, a rare win for a Division III program over a Division I program. Following his career at CMU, Ben joined Jamie Dixon's staff at the University of Pittsburgh. He served as a head manager for the men's basketball program for three years, during which the program won a Big East championship, played in three NCAA tournaments, and reached its first ever #1 ranking. While at Pitt, he worked with NBA players DeJuan Blair and Sam Young, as well as multiple all-Big East players. After graduating from Pitt with a degree in psychology, he returned to his home state where he received a master's degree in Sport Management from the University of Florida and continued his coaching career.
Ben was the head program coach for the Gainesville Stampede travel teams in Gainesville, FL for four years. He compiled a 91-27 coaching record while leading his teams to both a USSSA State and USSSA National championship.
While he enjoys the competitiveness of coaching in games, his true passion lies in the opportunity to teach in practice, private and group training sessions, and camps. Since 2009, Ben has trained hundreds of players from elementary school all the way to the college level. With well-thought-out, individualized plans, he has taken players to heights they never knew they could reach. Parents and players both rave about his ability to share knowledge and passion for the game of basketball, and most of all, his ability to make learning fun!

"Ben’s attention to detail, fast paced workouts, and high energy was an easy sell for me to spend the time and the money on important basketball fundamentals that Coach Stirt delivered in a very easy to understand formula." - Tim Walton (Father and Head Softball Coach at U. of Florida)
